Lisa Lin is the creator behind Healthy Nibbles, a cooking space she launched in 2014 while searching for legal work in the Bay Area — only to discover a deeper calling in the kitchen. What began as a distraction quickly became a passion project rooted in documenting her mother Mama Lin’s Cantonese recipes and culinary wisdom. Through clear instruction, cultural storytelling, and a gentle teaching style, Lisa has grown into a trusted voice for home cooks exploring Asian flavors and traditions.

In 2018, she began filming Mama Lin’s cooking, capturing the multi‑generational rhythms, techniques, and memories that shaped her Chinese American upbringing. These intimate videos resonated widely, eventually leading to a Washington Post feature by Elazar Sontag that highlighted their shared culinary journey. Today, Healthy Nibbles serves as Lisa’s evolving recipe journal — a place where she preserves Toisan (台山) roots, celebrates dim sum favorites from her San Francisco childhood, and shares comforting dishes like turnip cake, savory tang yuan, and her family’s beloved pork and cabbage potstickers.

Beyond her website, Lisa’s work extends into recipe development, writing, and community leadership. She has contributed to Simply Recipes, co‑wrote a Lunar New Year feature with Hetty Lui McKinnon for The Washington Post, and served as a judge for the James Beard Awards. Now based in Sacramento and fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, and Toisan, she continues to honor her heritage through food — inviting others to reconnect with their own culinary stories, one dish at a time.
