Here is a list of critic’s picks, must see movies and the most binge-worthy TV series on your favorite streamers for this weekend.

Pachinko (2022)

Based on the New York Times bestseller, Pachinko is a sweeping saga that chronicles the hopes and dreams of a Korean immigrant family across four generations. Starring Academy Award-winner Yuh-Jung Youn, Lee Minho, Jin Ha, and Minha Kim, Pachinko now streaming, only on Apple TV+

The series stars Soji Arai as Mozasu, Jin Ha as Solomon, Inji Jeong as Yangjin, Minha Kim as teenage Sunja, Lee Minho as Hansu, Kaho Minami as Etsuko, Steve Sanghyun Noh as Isak, Anna Sawai as Naomi, Junwoo Han as Yoseb, Jung Eun-chae as Young Kyunghee, Jimmi Simpson as Tom Andrews, Yu-na Jeon as young Sunja, and Academy Award-winning actress Yuh-Jung Youn as older Sunja.

Pachinko is written and executive produced by Soo Hugh (“The Terror,” “The Killing”), who created the series and serves as showrunner. Kogonada and Justin Chon are executive producers and directed four episodes each, with Kogonada directing the pilot. Michael Ellenberg and Lindsey Springer executive produce for Media Res; Theresa Kang-Lowe executive produces for Blue Marble Pictures; and Richard Middleton also executive produces. Media Res’ Dani Gorin co-executive produces along with David Kim and Sebastian Lee.

Migration (2023)

A family of ducks decides to leave the safety of a New England pond for an adventurous trip to Jamaica. However, their well-laid plans quickly go awry when they get lost and wind up in New York City. The experience soon inspires them to expand their horizons, open themselves up to new friends, and accomplish more than they ever thought possible.

The Walking Dead: Dead City (2023)

Emmy Award-winning series The Walking Dead, based on the comic book series created by writer Robert Kirkman and artist Tony Moore, broadcast its final episode in 2022 after 11 series of bloodshed and betrayal. The show has given birth to companion series and spin-offs including Fear The Walking Dead, The Walking Dead: World Beyond, Tales Of The Walking Dead, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon and The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live.

Two of the franchise's most popular characters, Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), return to face the shuffling undead in a six-part adventure. The Croat (Zeljko Ivanek), a sadistic former member of the Saviors, kidnaps Hershel Rhee (Logan Kim), teenage son of Maggie and Glenn and spirits the young man away to Manhattan.

Maggie is determined to rescue her boy and she reluctantly joins forces with Glenn's murderer, Negan, the reformed one-time leader of the Saviors, who is wanted for murder and is currently on the run from New Babylon Federation marshal Perlie Armstrong (Gaius Charles). Negan strikes a deal to help Maggie and they venture into Manhattan accompanied by mute ward Ginny (Mahina Napoleon).

Secret Lives of Orangutans

Humans have many close relatives on the planet and orangutans are among the most majestic and fascinating. These wondrous creatures can be found in the wild in Sumatra and Borneo and in 2019, natural history series Our Planet introduced viewers to new mother Ellie and her rambunctious daughter Eden. Narrated by David Attenborough, director Huw Cordey's feature-length documentary follows eight-year-old Eden over the course of two years as she embarks on one of the most challenging periods of her life

OceanXplorers

Titanic director James Cameron narrates and produces a six-part series, which travels around the world with ocean exploration initiative OceanX aboard its state-of-the-art vessel, the OceanXplorer, to uncover secrets of underwater worlds. Many of these ecosystems have never been glimpsed by human eyes and requires a handpicked team of experts and scientists to dive for up to 72 hours in the ship's two submersibles, Nadir and Neptune.

This team comprises award-winning deep sea researcher Zoleka Filander, shark biologist Melissa Cristina Marquez, ocean technology Innovator Eric Stackpole and former Royal Marine Aldo Kane. Over the course of six episodes, the OceanXplorer and its crew plot a course from the Atlantic in the Azores through the warm waters of the Caribbean to the arctic shores of Svalbard, Norway

Daddio

Drama starring Dakota Johnson and Sean Penn. Caught up in traffic gridlock on the way to Manhattan from JFK airport, a veteran New York cabbie and his female passenger engage in a deep conversation.

The Inventor

Animated historical adventure featuring the voices of Stephen Fry and Marion Cotillard. In 16th-century Rome, Leonardo da Vinci's scientific experiments upset the pope, and he finds himself in exile, heading to the court of France's Francis I. Once installed in France, however, Da Vinci finds himself with plenty of opportunities to continue his controversial work.

To the End

Documentary that follows the band Blur as they get back together to record their album The Ballad of Darren and prepare for their biggest-ever headlining gigs. Now over 30 years into their career, the four-piece reflect on their past, their present and their ever-evolving friendships.

The Union

Spy comedy starring Mark Wahlberg and Halle Berry. Mike is a construction worker whose routine is unsettled when Roxanne, his old high-school sweetheart, reappears in his life. It turns out that Roxanne is now a spy, and she wants to recruit Mike for a mission to retrieve some top-secret information stolen by a clandestine syndicate.

IF

Part-animated comedy fantasy starring Cailey Fleming and Ryan Reynolds. Staying with her grandmother while her father is in hospital, young Bea discovers that she can now see strange creatures - which turn out to be people's imaginary friends, or "IFs". When neighbour Cal explains that the IFs are lonely because their human friends have now grown up, Bea joins him in a quest to match the IFs with new companions.

The Caine Mutiny Court Martial (2023)

Military courtroom drama starring Jason Clarke and Kiefer Sutherland. US Navy lieutenant Barney Greenwald is tasked with defending officer Stephen Maryk, who forcibly relieved his commander, Phillip Queeg, of duty during a typhoon. Though both Greenwald and the court are sceptical of the defendant's actions, the testimony against Queeg's leadership starts to add up.

Daughters

Documentary. Four incarcerated men and their young daughters prepare for an upcoming "Date with Dad" dance, part of a US charitable initiative to reconnect imprisoned fathers with their children.

Stags

A groom-to-be and members of his stag party face a brutal battle for survival on a lawless prison island in a brutal thriller created by Daniel Cullen. Stu (Nico Mirallegro) is looking forward to his wedding day but first he has the unbridled hedonism of a week-long trip to South America with his buddies. The celebrations are cut short when the revellers are flung unceremoniously into a penal colony ruled by two feuding brothers. To walk down the aisle, Stu must pick sides in a dog-eat-dog world and potentially abandon life-long loyalties

Emily in Paris (2020)

A young woman from the Midwest is hired by a marketing firm in Paris to provide them with an American perspective and she gradually falls under the spell of the French capital.

Confess, Fletch (2022)



Freelance journalist Fletch arrives in Boston from Rome at the request of recent love interest Angela de Grassi. Her father has been kidnapped by three thugs, and the ransom is the family's stolen Picasso painting, which is reportedly in the possession of art dealer Ronald Horan. However, Fletch soon becomes prime suspect in a murder case as he tries to rescue the abducted dad. Comedy thriller, starring Jon Hamm, Roy Wood Jr, Ayden Mayeri and Marcia Gay Harden

Awkwafina and John Cena headline a madcap action comedy written by Rob Yescombe and directed by Paul Feig, which draws inspiration from The Purge to endorse bloodshed on the streets of America. Actress Katie Kim (Awkwafina) moves to 2030 Los Angeles to pursue her love of acting. She unwittingly holds the winning ticket for the state's newly established Grand Lottery. Anyone with a losing ticket can claim the multi-billion-dollar jackpot by legally killing Katie before sundown with any weapon except a gun.

Amateur lottery protection agent Noel Cassidy (Cena) promises to protect Katie from hordes of murderous strangers for a 10% cut of her winnings. However, debonair rival Louis Lewis (Simu Liu) wants the commission from Katie

The Instigators



Action crime comedy from the director of The Bourne Identity, starring Matt Damon and Casey Affleck. Just out of prison and down on his luck, army veteran Rory, who's struggling to support his ex-wife and son, is persuaded by career thief Cobby to help heist a corrupt mayor. But their best-laid plans go awry and the hapless pair are soon being chased across Boston by cops, mobsters and other felonious types.

Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures (2023)

Kai, Lys and Nubs are apprentices sent by Master Yoda to train at the Jedi temple on the planet Tenoo under the tutelage of Master Zia. Together, they embark on adventures aboard the ship piloted by the skilled Nash and her droid RJ-83.

Bad Monkey

Bill Lawrence, one of the award-winning creatives responsible for Ted Lasso, masterminds this comedy based on Carl Hiaasen's best-selling novel. Andrew Yancy (Vince Vaughn) is a former Miami Police Department detective, on suspension for being reckless in the line of duty.

He yearns to return to his old job but the closest he can come now to doling out justice is by enforcing excellent hygiene standards as a health inspector in the Florida Keys. When tourists fish a human arm out of the water, Andrew scents an opportunity to regain his badge if he can prove the appendage belongs to a murder victim. With renewed vigour, Andrew seeks answers from a menagerie of Floridian oddballs and, as the title suggests, one mischievous simian

Under the Boardwalk
