Peter Bradshaw is a renowned British film critic and writer, best known for his work as the chief film critic at The Guardian since 1999. Born on June 19, 1962, Bradshaw was educated at Haberdashers' Aske's Boys' School in Hertfordshire and later studied English at Pembroke College, Cambridge, where he was president of the Cambridge Footlights. He earned his PhD in 1989, focusing on the Early Modern period.

Before joining The Guardian, Bradshaw worked as a columnist for the Evening Standard and gained attention for his satirical diary entries during the 1997 general election. He has also contributed to Esquire and appeared as a guest reviewer on BBC One's Film... programme.

In addition to his film criticism, Bradshaw has written and performed for BBC Radio 4 and co-wrote the sitcom Baddiel's Syndrome. His insightful and articulate reviews have made him a respected voice in the world of film criticism.
