Marina Alcaraz

Marina Alcaraz has been a journalist for more than twenty years at Les Echos, where she covers the media industry and the tech sector with a strong focus on strategy and economics. Deeply engaged with the transformations driven by artificial intelligence, she also co‑hosts the podcast “Les Echos de l’IA,” which explores the technologies, actors, and societal shifts shaping the field.

She earned her PhD in Information and Communication Sciences in 2022, completing a dissertation on media diversification under the supervision of Arnaud Mercier and Dominique Augey. She is now an associate researcher at both CARISM (Panthéon‑Assas) and IMSIC (Aix‑Marseille University), where she continues to investigate the evolution of media ecosystems and emerging models of information.

The author or co‑author of several books on media, she notably published Écosystème de l’information en ligne: Smart Presse (Iste Editions, 2019) with Dominique Augey, offering a comprehensive overview of contemporary media research. Since 2018, she has been teaching at EJCAM as well as at other universities, including Panthéon‑Assas, sharing her expertise with future journalists, researchers, and media professionals.
