Laiba Mubashar is a passionate storyteller and advocate for meaningful change. She recently graduated from Northwestern University in Qatar with a degree in Journalism, complemented by minors in Strategic Communication and Media and Politics. Her work focuses on telling human-interest stories, delving into history, culture, and politics.

As part of a prestigious fellowship with the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting in Washington D.C., Laiba produced her first documentary, chronicling the journeys of two survivors of acid attack violence in Pakistan. The film highlights their battles against societal and medical challenges and their pursuit of justice.

Laiba also has a strong interest in culture and lifestyle journalism, contributing to the Culture desk at Euronews during her time in Lyon, France. Beyond journalism, her commitment to development work and service learning has taken her across continents. From launching a data-driven agriculture project and conducting financial literacy workshops in Uganda to assisting in building an eco-bungalow in Cambodia, Laiba exemplifies hands-on efforts to make a difference.

Her leadership extends beyond journalism. At university, Laiba served as Vice President of Student Government and as an editorial board member for the student-led publication, fostering collaboration and growth within her community.

In her free time, Laiba enjoys traveling, reading, visiting museums, exploring historical sites, meeting new people, and savoring diverse cuisines. With experiences spanning four continents, she is deeply grateful for the opportunity to connect with people and cultures worldwide.
