Karen Weise is a seasoned journalist specializing in technology and business reporting. She is currently a Seattle-based technology correspondent for The New York Times, where she covers major companies like Amazon and Microsoft, exploring their influence on society and the economy.

Before joining The Times in 2018, Karen worked for Bloomberg Businessweek and Bloomberg News, reporting on topics ranging from corporate lobbying to the secretive world of Chinese home buyers. Her investigative work has earned recognition from the Society of American Business Editors and Writers and the Society of Publishers in Asia.

Karen holds degrees from Yale University and the Graduate School of Journalism at the University of California, Berkeley. She has also worked at ProPublica, where her reporting on the foreclosure crisis was a finalist for an Investigative Reporters and Editors award. Outside of journalism, she once rode her bicycle cross-country from Connecticut to California before settling in Seattle.
