Heather Haddon is a veteran journalist currently serving as a restaurant reporter for The Wall Street Journal, based in the Chicago bureau. Since joining the Journal in October 2011, she has built a reputation for high-impact business reporting, with a primary focus on food retail, the grocery business, and major industry players like McDonald's, Starbucks, and Kraft Heinz. Outside of her professional reporting, she is known as an avid soup-maker, piano-player, and bike-rider.

Before transitioning to her current food and agriculture beat in Chicago, Haddon spent several years in the Journal's New York office covering politics and regional affairs. During this time, she reported on the Chris Christie administration, helped break stories regarding the "Bridgegate" scandal, and covered the 2016 Republican presidential field on the campaign trail. Her deep dive into New Jersey politics was a natural fit for her background as a New Jersey native.

Haddon began her journalism career in 2006 at The Record/Herald News, where she examined topics such as mortgage fraud. She later worked as a reporter for amNewYork and the New York Post before making the move to the Wall Street Journal. She is a graduate of Oberlin College and continues to deliver enterprise reporting and exclusive scoops on the shifting landscape of the global food industry.
