France 24 is a state-owned international news network based in Paris, launched on December 6, 2006 with the mission to offer a French perspective on global affairs. It broadcasts 24/7 in four languages — French, English, Arabic, and Spanish — reaching over 520 million households worldwide.

Created under the vision of President Jacques Chirac, France 24 was designed to counterbalance dominant Anglo-American media narratives and promote pluralism in international news. It’s part of the France Médias Monde group, alongside RFI and MCD, and operates with a budget of around €300 million per year.

The network blends live news coverage, in-depth reports, and magazine-style programming, drawing on a global network of 160 correspondents and partnerships with outlets like AFP and France Télévisions
