The European Marine Board (EMB) is a leading think tank in marine science policy, representing around 10,000 scientists and technical staff from major marine institutes, research funding agencies, and university consortia across Europe. EMB bridges the gap between science and policy, identifying emerging challenges and opportunities in marine research. It engages in foresight activities, producing strategic papers, organizing forums, and participating in EU projects. EMB also runs the EMBracing the Ocean artist-in-residence program, funding creative collaborations with ocean scientists.
