Daniel Estrin is an American journalist who serves as NPRโ€™s international correspondent in Jerusalem. Since joining NPR in 2017, he has reported from Israel, Gaza, the West Bank, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and the United Arab Emirates. His work has appeared in publications such as The New York Times, The Atlantic, and The New Republic.

Estrin has spent over a decade reporting from the Middle East, including seven years with the Associated Press. He and his team won an Edward R. Murrow Award for a 2019 report that challenged the U.S. militaryโ€™s account of its raid against ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. Fluent in Arabic and Hebrew, he is known for his ability to capture compelling narratives that explain the complexities of the Middle East to his audience.
