Amelia Duggan is an award‑winning travel writer and editor based between London and Lisbon, known for her richly reported features and her ability to capture the cultural and emotional texture of place. Her work appears across major outlets including National Geographic Traveller (UK), The Guardian, The Telegraph, MSN, and Yahoo, establishing her as one of the most versatile voices in contemporary travel journalism. She has been recognised with numerous industry nominations and won the Specialist Travel Writer of the Year 2019 award for her reporting on Latin America.

She currently serves as Managing Editor at APL Media, where she works closely with the editorial director to shape the company’s expanding portfolio, including National Geographic Traveller (UK), Food by National Geographic Traveller, and the National Geographic Traveller Food Festival. Before this role, she was Deputy Editor at National Geographic Traveller and built a strong freelance career contributing to The Times, The Telegraph, and the Evening Standard. Her editorial leadership is marked by a commitment to narrative depth, visual richness, and global cultural literacy.

Duggan’s path into journalism includes early experience at Condé Nast Publications and Archant, followed by academic training with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Leeds and a master’s degree from King’s College London.
